So here are all the rabbit beasts in their completed glory.. a major structual acheivement is that no glue has been used to hold the rabbit bodies to the axel . All steel roods and angles.

"you are all i Need"( part 2) - Woollarah small sculpture entry

Fox jaw is on , neck binding has commenced , one more head to go. Please note the heads and ears are entirely adjustable- if you lay a good foundation/ armature then stability is assured, all that fucking around with the wiring does pay off.

Large Photo - middle rabbit - stages of binding -newspaper, framingtape, acrylic stuffing, bind and knot strips of felt, wrap armature wire around head ,force the head into shape using pliers, attatch ears and wire in, more knotted felt strips, beging to bind with wool . tension must be mainted throughout process in order for the shape to hold- binding of each head will take approx five to six hours.
On the smaller photos the stages are clear. Notice the importance of the wire at the end of the ears. Major anchor point. The fox jaw that appears with the base rabbit is attatched onto the head purely through binding- wanted sinew feel

So what we have here is the first photo with a third of the sculpture complete.

Up to this stage the timber has been cut, shaped, guide holes put in place, the hardwood has been heat treated, stained, the axel for the vintage pram wheels assembled and wireform rod embbeded into the necks to create the rabbit heads.

(and to think this all started with the hairbrained scheme of doing the entire body construct out of stitched felt, Ha..! silly woman) .

The silver wire pieces just near the wheel are to become the ears.... trust me
Second pic just the ears - wire has been shaped and wrapped - 1st baking with "ultralight" - then carved back , second layer with premo polymer mix, more pinching.
**** Notice the drawing on plywood next to the ears - this was the re-invented sketch when wood became the chosen base material .
